Heat treatment of precision castings

Due to the different purposes of precision castings, there are different heat treatments. Basically, they can be divided into two categories. The first category is the organizational structure will not change or should not change through heat treatment.  The first heat treatment procedure is mainly used to eliminate internal stress, which is caused by different cooling conditions and conditions in the Stainless Steel Casting process.  The structure, strength and other mechanical properties do not change obviously because of heat treatment.

In the second category, inner has changed significantly, which can be broadly divided into five categories:  
1, softening annealing: its purpose is mainly to decompose carbide, reduce its hardness, and improve the processing performance, for nodular cast iron, its purpose is to obtain more ferrite structure.  
2, normalizing treatment: the main purpose is to obtain pearlite and soxaustenite structure to improve the mechanical properties of stainless Steel Casting.  
3, quenching treatment: mainly in order to obtain higher hardness or wear strength, at the same time to very high surface wear characteristics.  
4, surface hardening treatment: mainly to obtain surface hardening layer, and get very high surface wear resistance characteristics.  
5, precipitation hardening treatment: mainly in order to obtain high strength and elongation does not change drastically.
