The air tightness of aluminum alloy casting refers to the degree of no leakage of cavity type Aluminum Casting under the action of high pressure gas or liquid. The air tightness actually represents the degree of density and purity of the inner structure of the casting.  

The air tightness of aluminum alloy casting is related to the properties of the alloy. The smaller the solidification range of the alloy is, the smaller the tendency to loose is, and the smaller the precipitated porosity is, the higher the air tightness of the alloy is.  The air tightness of the same aluminum alloy casting is also related to the aluminum alloy casting process. If the pouring temperature of aluminum alloy casting is reduced, the cold iron is placed to accelerate the cooling speed and the solidification crystallization under pressure, the air tightness of aluminum alloy casting can be improved.  The leakage gap can also be blocked by infiltration method to improve the air tightness of Aluminum alloy castings.
